For your interest I have included this brief history of the manufacturer,

Coalport established it's reputation as a producer of high quality decorated ornaments and tableware in the 18th and 19th centuries. They were often compared during these times to the earlier established Sevres, Meissen and Chelsea porcelains. Despite their excellent reputation the company struggled to survive at times, largely due to their isolated location on the banks of the River Severn. In 1926 however, they were moved following a takeover in 1920 by Cauldon Potteries to Staffordshire. Fortunately, the company retained it's own management team along with it's name.

Later the George Jones pottery was also acquired by Cauldon, and from 1936 to 1950 the group operated under the George Jones trade name Crescent Pottery. The group was divided in 1958 when Coalport and George Jones was purchased by E. Brain and Company. It was only 9 years later in 1967 when the Wedgwood Group took over Coalport. Wedgwood still own them today, and whilst many changes have been made to modernise both the factory and their processes they still trade under the Coalport name.
