EARLY SPRING IN FUSHIMI, KYOTO By TAKEJI ASANO

 

         This Genuine Japanese Woodblock Print by Takeji Asano is in Excellent Condition, Has Never Been Framed, Displays Excellent Well Entrenched yet Very Subtle Colours and Measures 40cm x 27.5cm (1 ft 3.6 inches x 10.7 inches). It is Signed Takeji in the Bottom Right of the Scene, Titled Early Spring in Fushimi, Kyoto in English in the Bottom Margin and Has The Same Title in Japanese in the Top of Left Hand Margin with The Unsodo Publisher's Seal, Printer's Seal and Carvers Seal in the Left Margin. Fushimi is a Major Producer of Saki and this Scene Displays Takeji Asano's Great Talent with Perspective as He Shows all the Saki Kegs waiting to be Filled with the New Vintage.

         The All Important Authentic Gei Watermark in the Lower Left Corner which is Visible When Held up to the Light and The Kento Cut in the Bottom Left Corner of the Washi Made in the Printing Process is Added Proof of a Genuine Unsodo Origin. This Woodblock was Originally Released in 1953 and This Example is a Later Edition Hand Printed from the Original 1953 Woodblocks.

 

ABOUT THE ARTIST. Takeji Asano Lived From 1900 to 1999 and Graduated from the Kyoto School of Fine Arts in 1919 and then the Kyoto School of Painting in 1923. He was Influenced in his Early Years by Tsuchida Bakusen and Helped to Organise the Sosaka Hanga Society in 1929. His Classical Background Has Influenced his Woodblocks and his Incredible Creativity has Made Him One of the Great Shin Hanga Artists.
