      This Authentic Antique Genuine First Edition Original Japanese Woodblock Harimaze Print By Hasagawa Sadanobu Shows Five Separate Scenes of Views of Edo with Inspiration from the Early Hiroshige Series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. Harimaze Woodblock Prints were Created with a Number of Different Scenes in a Type of Collage and were Designed to be Cut into Separate Scenes and Pasted into Albums or On To Screens. It is RARE to Find One Whole Especially Like This One which Still Has Full Margins with Sadanobu's Characters and Originality Claim and Publisher's Seal in the Top Margin.

     This Fine and Interesting Original First Edition Sadanobu Woodblock Print is Printed on Fine Washi, Hand Made, Japanese Mulberry Bark Paper with Strong Ink Bleed Through to the Reverse Side, Measures 37.5cm x 25.5cm (14.7 inches x 10 inches), Displays Good Mineral Coloured Malachite Blues and Greens with a Pink which Obviously Dates it to The 1870s and Makes it One of Sadanobu's Last Works. It is in Very Good Condition for its Over 135 Years of Age with only some Minor Toning which can really only be noticed in the Margins. See Photos.

ABOUT THE ARTIST. SADANOBU, HASAGAWA lived from 1809 to 1879 and is known to have Only Produced Woodblocks from 1834 until his death in 1879. He studied under Shijo painter Ueda Kocho then Kunisada and Kunimasa in Osaka. Among his Personal names Naraya Bunkichi and Naraya Tokubei and He is the FIRST in a Four Generation Long Line of Woodblock Artists.
