Genevieve Ward 1838-1922, American born English actress and opera singer.

In 1921 she was the first actress to be made a Dame Commander of the British Empire for her services to the theatre.

Sepia photograph mounted on thick gilt edged bevelled board with Rocher Chicago in gilt lettered on bottom edge, H Rocher was an artist photographer with a studio in Chicago U.S.A.


16½ by 10½ inches
