Gene Fullmer was known as the cyclone on account of his all action, non-stop style. He did not give his opponents a break all through each contest. While not pretty to watch he certainly was exciting and sometimes used more than just his hands while attacking his foes. He is from a boxing family known as "The fighting Fullmers". Gene was the most succesful of the brothers winning the World Middlweight title and beating the great Sugar Ray Robinson twice, drawing with him once and losing to him once. As well as fighting Robinson he also faced other greats such as Dick Tiger, Carmen Basilio, Paul Pender, Rocky Castellani, Gil Turner, Joey Giardello and Benny "Kid" Paret. Gene is legend in boxing and is a member of the International Boxing Hall Of Fame.
