1868 Rare Registered Letter Dublin to Glasgow.

Cover dated Dublin with this rare registered postmark, DUBLIN REGISTERED P.L.O (Public Letter Office) 23rd July 1868.

Note: In William Kane's Postal Marking of Dublin he gave the dates of use as 1874 - 1879 this cover is 6 years earlier,

MacKay gives no dates and calls it the (Paid Letter Office)

Tied with SG 94, 4d Vermillion Plate 9 and SG 43 1d Rose (looks like Plate 100), cancelled with Irish Diamonds 186 Dublin.

Backstamps Helenburgh CDs 27 July 68 and Glasgow transit CDs 26 July 68.

Messy and has a tear at the top of the cover, but still a rare cover.
