L'originale elicottero



Il Bell 206 è un elicottero leggero di costruzione statunitense realizzato alla fine degli anni '60. Dotato di un ottimo disegno aerodinamico e di un muso allungato, è usato come macchina civile in innumerevoli esemplari e viene prodotto su licenza in Italia come AB206.

Ha avuto un impiego anche come macchina militare, soppiantando l'Hughes Cayuse nonostante fosse per molti aspetti assai inferiore. La denominazione militare è OH-58 Kiowa, usato in genere per la sola osservazione aerea, normalmente non armato e praticamente mai usato come elicottero da combattimento di prima linea.

In Italia è in dotazione all'Aviazione dell'Esercito ed è impiegato come elicottero da addestramento presso la scuola di volo.
