On offer is a Fully Restored Victorian Deep Buttoned Sofa with Swarovski Crystal Buttons. The sofa has been completely re upholstered by a master upholsterer at Vintage 57 by hand using traditional materials and has been hand tailored. We have used a lovely Linen in a neutral "natural" colour made in England by Bushby who are Dorset based fabric designers. We have used Swarovski Diamante / Rhinestone Chrystal Buttons
Vintage 57 are members of the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers. All sofas restored by ourselves are genuine antique sofas and are "one offs" that are unique. We do not make "copies" and only restore genuine period sofas using high quality materials
The sofa is made from a solid beech frame with turned ebonised front legs and back legs with a set of period style white china castors. The sofa has been upholstered using traditional materials and methods. The seat is coil sprung with an in initial stuffing of hair & coir* and a further stuffing of hair, cotton wadding, and a calico barrier cloth. The back & arms have been webbed then two stuffings of hair, cotton wadding and calico & linen top cover. *Please note that we no longer use new horsehair as this is imported from China. Instead we now use a mixture of hog and cowtail hair which is equally as good but comes from the UK. We still continue to recycle used horse hair washing and cleaning it using enviromentally safe products

Vintage 57 Ltd is a small rural business specialising in upholstery and restoration of antique and vintage upholstered furniture. We always use traditional methods and materials, some of which date back over 200 years. All our restoration work and all the upholstery restored by hand and all coverings are hand tailored. As much as possible we source all our materials from local suppliers and support and use local craftsmen & women. We use fabrics that are made & printed in the UK. We also source & use hand dyed vintage textiles from small westcountry dyers
Vintage 57 Ltd is a member of the Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers & as such we abide by their code of conduct
Vintage 57 also sells antique and vintage furniture via our ebay shop. We cover auctions all over the Westcountry and source unusual and eye catching seats and homewares

We accept payment by all major credit cards, paypal, cheque or cash on collection from UK buyers. Non UK Buyers payment by all major credit cards, paypal or wire transfer in pounds sterling
All payments to be made within seven days from the auction end.
If for any reason the item description or photographs are not a true representation of the goods delivered then Vintage 57 will offer a full auction price or purchase price refund.

Smaller Items
Will be shipped via courier. Please see item description for the courier costs as they are variable due to weight and size. We use Payperdrop, DHL for all UK & European Parcels & Interparcel for USA & Canada. All couriers are charged at cost & we do not charge for packing. Please note that we use the above carriers because they offer a secure service at a competative price and all items are insurued for loss or damage. With both DHL and Interparcel they will require a signature on delivery. They deliver between the hours of 0900 to 1800 hours so please ensure you notify Vintage 57 of a delivery address where a signature will be present, otherwise if they attempt delivery and cannot obtain a signature they will leave a card to re-arrange delivery. Re delivery could result in additional charges. Due to the fact that we are a small rural based business we send all small items out on a Monday. This gives us time to make sure that we have the correct address for delivery, and also an address where a signature will be
Larger Items
Please note that we try and operate a policy that limits deteremental effects to the enviroment. The rates below for larger items are based on using local companies that we schedule deliveries around their delivery schedules and your schedule. This does mean that we have to sometimes allow up to 28 days for delivery in mailand UK & longer for non UK destinations. Every effort is made to deliver in a timely fashion and within 14 days, but with this service we cannot deliver to specific dates. Also by using these local companies for UK deliveries we can also use covers & protection that can be re-used and recycled. UK delivery is usually Monday to Friday and can be arranged between the hours of 0700 to 2000. Occasionally a delivery can be made on a Weekend and if that service is available we will always offer that option. We do not charge for our time in liasing on your behalf with the couriers to arrange suitable delivery dates and times. If you need an item urgently then we will try and resolve within this service. Alternatively please email for a quote for a "special" delivery. Please note that the vans are manned by a single driver & delivery is to your front door and although our driver will be happy to assist please make sure that adequate help is available to take the item into your home. We are happy to combine delivery charges if other items are won or delivered at the same time but please email for confirmation of charges. Usually for UK mailand if two or three items are to be delivered at the same time then use the charges below for the first item but add £ 20.00 plus VAT per additional item

Collection is welcome by appointment. We are based in South Somerset - 10 minutes from Taunton Junction 25 of the M5 or 10 minutes from Ilminster on A303. We are only 25 minutes from Dorset Jurassic Coastline - Bridport , Charmouth & Lyme Regis.
