Full Harrods Victorian Dining Room Suite Frank Hudson

An extremely rare opportunity to own a complete suite of Victorian style dining room furniture sold by Harrods (see attached invoices) in July 1998 for the sum of £26,565 (and this was the sale price).

The entire suite is in superb condition as it was only used a few times per year, as the owners had a large table in their kitchen.

The table in this suite was covered when not in use.

The suite was made by the English furniture maker Frank Hudson exclusively for Harrods.

The set comprises the following:

Dining table, in solid mahogany with wind out mechanism and 3 leaves that can be added as required

The table measure 78 cm H x 316 cm W x 124 cm D when fully extended

It measures 78 x 170 x 124 when completely closed

A set of 10 mahogany chairs comprising 8 chairs and 2 armchairs, the upholstery in excellent unmarked condition

The story of furniture makers Frank Hudson

Frank Hudson is a family business, currently managed by the third generation of furniture makers. With over 100 years experience, the company is one of the last bespoke furniture makers left in the famous chair-making town of High Wycombe.

Frank Hudson, a master carver, formed the current business in 1947, repairing and reproducing carvings and furniture destroyed by bomb damage. During his life he was commissioned to make many carved pieces for civil occasions. He was joined by his son Rex as a designer, and in more recent years Rex's three sons joined the business.

After learning the trade, brothers Tim, James and Tom are continuing to build on the company’s reputation for manufacturing and supplying the finest quality beds and cabinet furniture in the UK.
