10" superlight sub-notebook.

Purchased as a Windows 2000 Laptop back in 2000, with the very hard to find "Optional Extra" USB webcam.

Upgraded as far as possible

192MB Ram, 60 GB hard disk, Netgear WG111T turbo Wireless Card.

The original CD Drive failed - so I've purchased a replacement PCMCIA DVD drive to work on the same/original PCMCIA card.

The keyboard 'N' key failed in 2005 so I purchased a new keyboard and installed it.

The battery was replaced at the same time, and probably needs replacing now as it lasts maybe 5 minutes now. (Works well as a short-term UPS!! :D )

Replaced the mains adaptor 18 months ago.

What have I done with this? I'm a software developer and have worked with this laptop in Suse Linux/ Ubuntu / Fedora Core. It runs on Windows XP but I wouldn't recommend it with SP3 as it's a bit slow (Is that because I'm impatient?). It'll work with Windows98...... If you like things like....retro.

I kind of like working with this machine as compared to an eeePc it's got a much better screen, and supports touch screen if you're feeling lazy. (Still has the pointer tucked into the side of the screen - it's "Touch" sensitive too - like anything touching the screen triggers it - like a palm pilot .

It does come with a couple of Windows 2000/XP disks for re-installation but believe me - the installation isn't simple as this laptop DOES NOT support USB or PCMCIA booting.

It now has Windows 2000 installed with all the drivers needed to make all the hardware work. This was a clean installation (For YOU!!) and works well with the wireless card - Kind of had to really as I was doing all of the windows updates through my own home wifi network and I'm not known to be the most patient person.

Carry case to contain all of this comes free - it'd be a bit lax of me not to protect it while shipping to you!!

All items are from a pet and smoke free home.

I've just boxed it up, and all-in it's 4.3kg which will cost £21.65p to ship via “Special Delivery”.

Please note: I'm not marking up from the Post office shipping charge, what it costs me to ship it is what YOU pay.

I recycle jiffy bags and other packing where it's appropriate to do so. (Saves you ££££) I prefer Royal Mail Special Delivery for the following reasons:

* The goods are insured
* It's quick - guaranteed pre 1pm next day
* You can see that I've shipped it
* I can see that you've received it

You're paying the postage so you should have the choice in how you have it shipped. So alternative shipping: It’ll cost £11.77 if I ship it first class recorded, and £9.58for Standard parcel post. Collection is always an option. Also I’m happy to combine postage, so if you view my other items for sale and you’re interested then we can work together to get a postage method and cost that suits you.

I can only really post Saturdays, but can sometimes ship other weekdays.

Now for the boring stuff: I don't ship outside the UK so please don't ask as refusal can sometimes offend. I very much prefer Paypal, but if you need to do a cheque or postal order, I'll ship once I have the cleared funds.

New ebayers, or you guys with lots of bad (Or even negative) feedback, please email me before bidding. I reserve the right to cancel bids. I appreciate we all have to start somewhere and I'm a reasonable guy taking reasonable steps to protect myself, I'm sure you'll see my viewpoint - if you don't, simple, don't bid.
