  • This is a delightfully sculpted bust of Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin, possibly the supreme composer of all time. Even as a small child, Chopin loved piano music.
  • Supplied with 2 pages of historical information, presented on parchment paper.
  • Hand made in Staffordshire, England from bonded Italian marble (96% marble).  It is attached to a solid carved black marble base.  Being hand made, means they are only made in limited numbers and so are very collectable. The detail is superb and these items are often mistaken for art works of great age.
  • Measures 7" (17.5 cm) high, approx.

History info

He began to take piano lessons when he was 6 years old. He started to write music even before he knew how to write down his ideas at the age of 7, Fryderyk was the author of two polonaises (in G minor and B flat major), the first being published in the engraving workshop of Father Cybulski. The genius was featured in the Warsaw newspapers, and "little Chopin" became the fascination and adornment of receptions given in the upper-class salons of the capital. He was known as a "musical genius".  He also began giving public charity concerts. His first professional piano lessons, given to him by Wojciech Zywny (b. 1756 in Bohemia), started in 1816 and ceased in 1822 because Chopin surpassed the skills of his teacher.

  • This bust makes a great matching pair with our bust of Verdi.
