19th Century French Tapestry Door Curtain

 

This is a lovely large antique French tapestry door curtain dating from the late 1800’s.

 

On a soft mellow beige background the design is of sprays of flowers.

In delicate muted pinks, browns and greens, with its leading edge which has caught the light,  little paler in shade, but does certainly not detract from the overall look.

 

The woollen passementerie /trim runs along the leading edge and the bottom, and is complete and strong.

 

There are 5 small goblet pleats at the top with 6 small brass rings.

 

The curtain is in very good condition and is fully lined in its original beige cotton chintz.
