DESCRIPTION

This is a beautiful genuine French antique Louis-Philippe style gilt mirror circa 1870, with a Napoleon III influence in the black bands on the frame, making a very unusual black and stunning gold gilt running all around the frame.

The genuine gold gilt work has a lovely worn finish, giving a nice antique look to the piece.

This is a very good quality, solidly constructed mirror.

The frame is generally in overall good condition.

The mirror plate is a heavy original piece, in good condition overall, but there is a little black specking (barely visible) across the plate

The frame is the traditional wood construction with a gesso coating, which provides a smooth base for the final gilt work.
