What’s so special about our airport/travel friendly slings?
Our hugely popular Thrifty sling just got even better for travellers. This listing is for our new airport friendly Thrifty sling which comes in 6 fantastic colour choices including cool natural undyed cotton and classic black, all colours come with black nylon sling rings. Like our aluminium rings these nylon rings are supplied by Slingrings, the company who designed and developed non welded rings that are specifically manufactured and safety tested for baby carriers. I found these nylon rings to be invaluable recently when travelling with Saoirse as they allowed me to pass through airport scanners and security without activating alarms and without having to take her out of the sling. They are great for swimming either in the sea or pool as the rings will not corrode in the water and the fabric is fast drying…..why not do as Saoirse and Faith did and use it as a beach towel!
The other huge advantage this sling has over pouches/papooses is that it is adjustable, making it much more versatile and also able to be worn by wearers of a differant size....meaning both mum, dad, granny, grandpa even older brothers and sisters can all use the same sling. Ring slings also offer the freedom of completely handsfee breastfeeding and also have the advantage of allowing even a young baby to be carried upright or an older child to lie down across your body to sleep, without causing any discomfort to the wearer. · Those of you who want to give baby wearing a try but don't want to spend a lot of money, but also don't want to compromise on quality or comfort. I am often asked why I don’t put padding in the shoulder section of my slings. Quite simply, it is not necessary. I would always advice to be wary of slings with shoulder padding as it is there for a reason and it’s NOT extra comfort! It means that the design of the sling is such that without it, it would be uncomfortable to wear. However, the problem is, that with it, the padding allows you to wear the sling incorrectly for a long period and you don’t notice it until you take it off and your shoulder aches! By that time of course the damage has been done.
