Handmade by Fredric Effects, the Unpleasant Companion is a Shin-Ei FY-2 Companion Fuzz clone made with the best parts available- neutrik jacks, alpha switch and pots, fibreglass PCB. This pedal is true bypass.

Real vintage-sounding fuzz with a rough, dangerous edge. The 'fuzz' knob controls the fuzz tone, rather than amount of fuzz (lots of it, all the time... highly unpleasant!) The classic original version of this pedal suffers from a lack of LED indicator, no 9V jack and a volume drop. This clone fixes all that and adds an extra boost stage to take the volume level up again, so it's nice and loud.

The original has been used by notable musicians such as Colin Greenwood of Radiohead and Graham Coxon.
