Ford Escort GTI / RS 2000 Side Skirts

Suitable for the Escort Mk 5 / 6 / 7 - 2 door or 4 door models

This part is brand new, direct from the manufacturers and is a High Quality Fibre Glass Replica

This is not a genuine part but a replica replacement or enhancing product. The side skirts have an upper return flange to make fitting easy, a small amount of trimming and sanding may be required to obtain a perfect fit as the contours of each individual car do change slightly, particularly around the front wing and rear quarter panel

The skirt attaches to the vehicle using self tapping screws or rivets around the wheel arch return and rivets inside the door edge

Brief Side Skirt Fitting Instructions

The skirts are fitted using screws/rivets.
1. Offer the skirt up to the side of the car and slide the upper flange between the door and the sill.

2. Check the fit of the skirt against the front and rear wings, and sand or file accordingly to achieve a perfect fit up against the body work.
(This may be necessary due to the age of the car and if repairs have been carries out on these areas in the past, as the contours may have changed slightly).

3. Remove and paint the skirts at this stage once you are happy with the final fit.

4. Screw/rivet the skirts into position around the wheel arches under the car and along the door inner sill (rivets preferred in this area).

5. Run around the joint of the sill with sealant (such as Sikaflex or Tigerseal) to give a professional finish to the joints.

6. Wipe any excess away with panel wipe or petrol.

This part comes in a Fibre Glass Gel Coat finish ready to sand and prime and can be supplied in the colour of your car for an additional cost(colour and code required)
