| | Album notes | Floetry: Marsha Ambrosius, Natalie Stewart (vocals).Producers include: Keith "Keshon" Pelzer, Darren Henson, Vidal Davis, Andre Harris, Ivan Barias.Recorded at A Touch Of Jazz, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and The Mill Studios, Norfolk, England.FLOETIC was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Contemporay R&B Album. "Floetic" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best Urban/Alternative Performance..Even if you think you're not familiar with the British R&B duo of Natalie Stewart and Marsha Ambrosius, you may have already heard their work. Even before releasing their debut album FLOETIC, the pair penned songs for everyone from Michael Jackson and the Roots to Bilal and Eric Benet. Moving to Philadelphia (a soul town if ever there was one) helped to bring even funkier grooves out of the pair, as heard here. There are no clever production gimmicks or cynically crafted, do-or-die hooks on FLOETIC; instead Floetry presents honest, organic material that can accurately and quite literally be described as "soul music." Earnest vocal performances full of sensuality and joy get the message across, and often-mellow grooves accentuate the duo's late-night slow-jam sensibilities. Anyone enamored of "neo-soul" artists such as Kelis, Musiq, and the aforementioned Scott should find an easy way into FLOETIC.
