A very elegant cup and saucer from the Flight, Barr & Barr Worcester factory, C. 1820-1825, decorated with dark blue enamel leaves and extremely rich gilding. The blue enamel gives the associated gilding a raised effect which is very attractive and I find the elegant handle particularly appealing. The set is in fine condition - there are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs, and both ring very well when tapped. Both items extremely finely potted, and there is very little wear, just a tiny amount to the inner well of the saucer. There are three spots to the footrim of the saucer and one or two insignificant dust inclusions from manufacture. Both pieces carry the impressed crown and FBB mark used by Worcester at this time. The saucer measures 5 3/4 inches diameter, the cup is 3 5/8 inches diameter. |
