A true Custom touch for your prized Telecaster without any modification.
New Genuine Fender®
Telecaster® / Esquire® Vintage '52 Type Chrome "Pat.Pend." Bridge Plate with Notched Lower Flange and a set of Custom Fitted "Angle Compensated" Solid Brass Saddles.
This is a Standard RH Fender® 50's Style Chrome Bridge Plate that fits all Vintage 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and on up to current Reissues, MIJ, MIM, Squire CV's and Newer Highway One's® with (4) mounting screw holes and "Strings Thru Body". NOTE: Does not fit the American Standard/Series. This Bridge is also a perfect fit on the Peavey Omniac. The Screw Spread Dimension is 2-9/16" center to center to the (2) outer-most holes. The String Spread Dimension is the Standard 2-1/8 inches "E" to "E".
The Bridge Plate is modified by "Notching" the Lower Flange for right hand picking clearance near the Bridge Pickup (as done on Danny Gatton's Original Guitar & on the Fender® Custom Shop Danny Gatton Signature Model Telecaster® Guitar). This Mod eliminates the part of the bridge that you've been catching your pick on, or banging your knuckles on, but still allows you to install the Bridge Cover "ashtray" if desired. The Notched-Area is polished smooth to match the rest of the bridge plate before the bridge is assembled.
I then add a set of Custom Fitted 3-pc. "Angle Compensated" Premium Smooth Brass Saddles. These Saddles have the intonation screw drilled at a slight angle. They allow proper intonation of your Tele's® vintage style three saddle bridge by angling the saddles and establishing the proper string length on all six strings. This is not possible with a stock set of "Straight" Saddles because most often you would need to adjust the saddle to a point halfway between the two perfect settings for each of the strings on that saddle. With the "Angle Compensated" Saddles, that Compromise is minimized or not necessary at all. The center saddle of this set is then Custom Ground so the string elevations can match your Fretboard Radius and the proper angle is ground on the ends so these saddles fit beside each other better with minimal interference (see photo). These saddles offer a True Vintage Look and Sound with the appeal of Dramatically improved intonation.
"If you like the tone of the great Tele® pickers like Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan, you need a three-way bridge. Nothing else matches the sustain and tone achieved, as when the multiplied forces of two strings per saddle are applied."
Mounting screws are not included. An instruction sheet on how to set intonation is included in the package.
Note: The new Saddles use a Slotted Set Screw for the elevation adjustment.
