This is a faulhaber 5 pole Coreless motor with 1.5 mm single shaft and it is 15mm (Diameter) and 24 mm long. It has Neodymium magnets which are 35 times the power of Alnico and in a motor double or triple stall torque. You can test this by reviewing the spec sheet for the regular versus the SR motor of the same size.
All coreless can motors will coast when power is interrupted and have zero cogging at low speeds but with a flywheel it will coast several seconds no load and a lot longer with a flywheel
Check other listings for the double shaft models this is a single shaft.
This is a Coreless "Rolls Royce quality" can motor* for brass or plastic loco diesel or steam loco. It flywheels a few seconds and thats enough to coast you through switchwork for several inches to prevent stalling the steam or diesel locomotive through dirty or rough trackwork---- With or without flywheel!! Flywheels available for $5 custom for your size requirements.
If you like your locomotive to start like the prototype and chug smoothly through rough track and deadspots this is the motor for you! I have many customers who have tried them and love them due to the high power. The lack of an iron core (coreless motor) means zero cogging and when power is interrupted it coasts and does not stall!
Faulhaber makes motors that are precision enough to go in space craft, aeronautics and high dollar medical equipment robots and is among the best motor company in the world.
This listing is for the motor equipped with Neodymium magnets which have 35 times the power of Alnico and as a result a motor delivers 2 or 3 times the torque of an equal motor with Alnico magnets----this motor has about 1 oz inch of torque making it as powerful as a much larger motor and more powerful than the larger 1624 Faulhaber motor because of the Neoduymium magnets! The more powerful magnets are a little bit slower (compare the 1524t012s and the 1524T012SR ). The Alnico model one has 13,000 rpm and the SR high power is 10,000 rpm at 12 volts.
This is a single shaft 9 volt motor with 13,000 rpm at 12 volts to match locomotives with 13,000 rpm regular motor.
With just a small flywheel on the 1 .5 mm shaft performance is excellent! I have a few 6 and 18 volt single shaft e units that can be substituted if you win the bid. I have more of these motors in 9 volt single shaft and extra long double shaft . Flywheels are $5 each.
Coreless motors make excellent tacho generators--all you need is a voltmeter and you are in business!! See spec sheet for back emf factor. (rpm per volt)
Because of their efficiency these motors will not load down on hill or under heavy loads and your pack will deliver more volts for speed (high amp motors eat up your volts eating up your speed!!) Volts and amps vary inversely under load!
Efficiency is rated over 75% converting Amps to stall torque!!
These motors run about $100 from the US importer and the link for the motors is as follows:

This is the precious metal version which has Gold and silver brushes and commutation.
If Link does not work go to www.faulhaber.com This is a
1524T009SR single shaft motor. It is available with extra long double shafts and precious metal brushes in other listings or by special order.
Kits are available for all major brass locomotives see my other listings.
Coreless motors make excellent tacho generators--all you need is a voltmeter and you are in business!! See spec sheet for back emf factor. (rpm per volt)
These motoren are known as glockenanker or bell armature in europe and used in Roco Trix (minitrix) and Marklin and are available in sizes 6 mm to 40 and gearheads (getreibe)
You can substitute the single shaft escap 1725 Rare earth 9 pole coreless motor in 12 or 7.5 volt ratings with about 1.75 oz inches of torque or the 1640 Maxon 9 volt double shaft motors with over 2 Oz inch of torque.Also.
