Up for auction is a superb

EARLY 19th CENTURY

FRENCH

PORCELAIN MANTLE CLOCK CASE

There are not factory marks, however I am confident that this is from Paris - everything about it screams elegance.

Condition - good considering age, I have detailed all the imperfections below:

It has a slither chip to the inside of the clock mount (photographed), this chip is on the back of the case and once a movement is inserted it would be hard to notice. One corner of the top has been off and restored, very well too as it is hard to see (again this is photographed).

At the top on the plinth coloured purple where the lion is sitting, there are four applied gold 'spots' missing and five 'spots' missing in the same place at the back - a very very easy touch up job.

Slight rubbing to each gold corner at the underneath of the lion.

To the inside of the case you can see photos of three firing cracks, not big and certainly do not go through the piece in any way.

There is a little gold worn off the base and other areas of gold colouring.

Overall this is an excellent object and if you are a clock restorer this would be a superb project as I am sure items of this quality simply do not come onto the market in any great quantity.

This measures just under 13.5inches high (to the top of the lions head), 6inches wide at base, 3.25inches deep at base. The section which holds the movement is 1.5inches deep and the diameter of the movement space is 2.75inches.

Happy to answer any questions.

This item is very heavy and I hope it just squeezes in under the 2kg weight restriction to ship overseas!  If not then I will have to ship via another method, however I will not know this until it is packaged up so please note.

Thanks for looking and good luck.

Please note that I will post five working days after receiving cleared payment unless otherwise requested, thank you.
