DescriptionThank you for checking out this item. Paul says: Can there be anyone interested in dog art who has not come across this artists legendary work? Surely "The Dirty Dogs of Paris" are a 20th century icon of frivolous art, representing everything that was fun and daring in Paris in the immediate post war years. I distinctly remember my late father buying an O’Klein engraving in a gift shop on the banks of the river Seine on my first ever trip to Paris in the late 1950’s. As a schoolboy, it fascinated me back then and I still have had a soft spot for this artists humour and observational skills. This particular engraving by O’Klein is from the much loved series showing French canines relieving them selves in all sorts of different ways. Somehow they still seem just that little bit "naughty" even in this day and age and will continue to raise a smile. Why not frame a couple and hang them in your loo! The Breeds shown in this engraving include: Smooth Dachshund, Cocker Spaniel, Scottish Terrier, French Bulldog, Griffon, Poodle, Miniature Pinscher. (+ Cat!)
Condition Excellent. With no creases, scuffs or bends. I suspect you won't see one in better condition than this one. Please note that this is NOT a blow up from a postcard, or a reprint, copy, computer-generated print or an inkjet/laser printer copy of the type you may well see offered elsewhere on eBay.
