Safety is of paramount importance for me and my children and for yours too, that's why at Freedom Slings we use only the best fabrics and safety tested rings. The lightweight NON-WELDED aluminium rings that we use are specially imported and manufactured for baby slings. Other sellers still use British made welded stainless steel rings that cost 10 times less than the rings we use (and still charge the same price for their slings, in some cases even more!!)
Why do we think it's worth it? Well apart from weighing less and looking nicer, these rings have been specifically tested and made for baby slings. They have no weld (A WELD IS BY IT’S VERY NATURE THE WEAKEST PART OF THE RING) and since the weight of your baby is borne by the rings, it’s not worth risking your baby's safety by using a sling made with cheaper rings. Our rings have been independently tested and still didn't break on a load of 3,000lbs, other sellers using the welded stainless steel rings will tell you the have been durability tested for more than 400kgs, however tested on what? They are made by companies in the UK but they do not make them specifically for baby slings. In short if safety is as important to your family as it is to mine ALWAYS insist on SAFE NON-WELDED RINGS which any reputable sling manufacturers should use but very often don’t. Independent WAHM’s using safe rings like ourselves will always let you know the ring type they use.
If a listing only mentions testing of the rings and NOT the way the rings are made (i.e. welded/non-welded) then ask the seller because they are probably the inferior welded rings.

I noticed that you had a gallery for pics of babbits in their slings. I thought I would send you a couple pics of Sophie, who's currently 5 1/2 weeks. She actually has panic attacks if we dare to put her in her push chair.
People here in Grimsby are gobsmacked when they see us out and about with it, and she gets loads of attention.
My other half has one, as well, and they spent an afternoon asleep together in his chair, without him worrying about dropping her. And we've also sent one to my brother in the States, who's little one is 2 days younger than Sophie.
I'm starting to think we might get another one soon, for a change of colour. Do you do the £19.95 one in a dark purple?

Hi Margaret,
I just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE this sling, it is extremely easy for me to put on myself and now my little boy can go around the house with me no problems! Taking my other son (who is 3) to the nursery is now a breeze! I can now change his shoes, take his jacket off and before I leave him I can give him a proper cuddle - with both hands! (He used to only get a strange, half a head cuddle type thing!)
I also have a daughter (7) and it’s great for me to be able to hold her and my son’s hand when out walking, instead of having my hands on the pushchair.
I also want to say that it’s not only good for breastfeeding, it’s great for bottle feeding too,,,,,,,,as I can now wash, sterilise and make up bottles without my baby screaming from his moses basket. He is now right up beside me!
I don’t know how I managed with my other two children when I didn’t have this sling….wish I'd discovered it years ago, I might need to have more kids now, so I can get the use out of it!!!

The Freedom Sling is the most versatile sling around. As the mother of twelve (12) children over the past 23 years, I must have seen and tried every type of Baby Carrier on the market, including backpacks, baby pouches, etc. and it took me until the birth of my last baby to find one that meets the needs of both me and my baby.
When I first discovered the Ring Sling my first impressions were that it was too good to be true, the simple design of it made me doubt its capabilities, DON'T BE PUT OFF BY THE SIMPLICITY OF THIS SLING, it took me just one wearing of it with my baby to appreciate that for all its simplicity this sling actually really works! The Freedom Slings ring sling is as accommodating for a newborn as it is for an older baby as it allows the baby to lie horizontally across mum to be fed or to sleep. My youngest Saoirse, now over a year old can still lie and be breastfed or sleep in her Freedom Sling (perfect for when we are out shopping and have a toddler and bags or even a buggy to be attended to).

As can be seen from the above pictures, if your baby becomes hungry or falls asleep in the sling there is no need to remove either the baby or the sling to change position all that is required is a simple one handed adjustment of the rings. If you then need to transfer your baby to either their cot or perhaps car seat, as you can see from above this again is easily done without disturbing your baby, the sling can then be used as a cosy blanket if required.
