This album is part of a series issued in 1980 to celebrate Motown's 20th Anniversary. Titled 'Superstar Series', the Frankie Vallie & The Four Seasons was volume No. 4.

It is a compilation of tracks recorded for the label between 1972 and 1975 - songs that were issued both as solo Frankie Valli and as Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons.

The Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons Motown recordings are superb and something of a forgotten treasure and this is an excellent compilation that features tracks that didn't appear on either the 'Chameleon' or 'Inside You' albums. And, of course, it includes the Northern Soul classic 'The Night'.
