After the Civil War is over Frank and Jesse James return to the family home where they witness the murder of their younger brother while Yankee soldiers turn a blind eye.

The James boys feel that they have no option but to take the law into their own hands. Along with their younger brothers they form a gang of rebels that wage war against corruption.
