FORD CAPRI MK2 3.0 GHIA V6 MANUAL

Welcome to the auction of my Mk2 3.0 Ghia Capri.I've had this car for over 5 years and have spent a lot of time,effort and money on her to get to this condition.Now,where do I start....recent expense on some MOT work....new o/s sill and repair to inner sill,floor and plate to n/s/r sill....new o/s/f brake pipe.New sill has been painted to original Stardust silver and looks good.MOT till Sept 2010,TAX till March 2010.Car is 4 speed manual.

I like a bit of chrome on my Capri and you will see in photos that there are some tasteful minor additions,mainly gearshift and mouldings on side and rear of lower vinyl roof.Wherever I go,people look and chat at this car with a big smile,saying things like "My Dad had one of those"and"Cor! Is that a proper 3 litre?"

Now,with any 35 year old car,there are some issues which will need attention at some point,but nothing urgent...this is me being honest as possible.....car is lovely,but not mint! There are several small areas of surface rust to both front wings near headlamps(see photos),o/s/r 1/4 panel by light(see photos),lower n/s/f door and wing(see photos),both A posts in door shuts above hinge mounts,couple of blisters of scuttle at base of front screen(note;new front screen fitted approx 18 months ago and it's the correct green tint....very hard to get hold of!).Small crack on dash by radio/cd.Slight wheel bearing noise that is mainly drowned out by gorgeous exhaust note(I have a pair of front and rear bearings that I can throw in,if you wish).Heated rear window has never worked,but car mainly used in Summer,so not really a problem.Rear wheels do rub rear arches slightly if more than 2 people in car on rough roads....other than that,fine.

Ok,thats's the negatives out of the way....here's some more good points.....Sunroof works(tilts and goes back....bit stiff sometimes when closing,but works nonetheless),new heater motor(works on both speeds),anti-dive kit on front suspension(road holding and handling under braking much improved)1/2 leather 2.8 special seats fitted......old front seats were aging a bit and these are a very close match for the Cloud grey interior(Note;old seats are available,as is original uncut radio dash and original alloy wheels and tyres if required).Wheels are very rare original 7x13 Ronal alloys with Aluminium wheelnuts,sitting on 205/60 HR13 tyres.....these are all good tread and the o/s/r is new as I has a puncture a couple of months ago.Runs on unleaded.Capri is serviced and maintained regularly by myself and performs as a 3 litre should....quick,glorious and fun!
