MIKE BAILEY ON THE COVER - WOLVES GLORY DAYS
*****************
The Football League Review was a nifty little 24-page A5 publication which used to be an interesting insert in the match programmes of most League clubs. This particular one, from the 1971/72 season - there's no actual date given - includes plenty of interesting articles, one of them about a stern warning for fans to keep off the pitch. Another story highlighted Oxford United's legendary general manager Arthur Turner whose humdrum week was livened by the need to recruit six young ladies for the Manorettes cheerleaders - and if you are a Middlesbrough fan, there's a terrific centre pages spread with a colour team pic of the Boro, with Ayresome legends such as Willie MAddren, David Mills, Eric McMordie and Stuart Boam.
