This DC4 Fällkniven Diamond/Sapphire Ceramic Whetstone is designed to be used dry, so you need no water, spit or oil to achieve a razor sharp edge. It has been designed to sharpen all types of steel, including hardened Tool Steel and even Tungsten tipped tools etc.

The DC4 Fällkniven Diamond/Sapphire Ceramic Whetstone will not warp or become deformed due to its flatbed steel and ceramic construction; as such you will always be guaranteed a perfectly flat honing surface, and comes complete with its own black leather case to protect the whetstone when not in use.

Do not be deceived by the compact 32 x 100mm size of the DC4, its fast cutting Diamond, and ultra fine Sapphire combination, enables you to handle all your sharpening needs whilst out in the field. The newly developed DC4, and it smaller brother the DC3, whetstones consist of fine, 25 micron sized, diamond dust particle bonded to a steel flatbed plate, which is then bonded to a very special ceramic stone, made from synthetic sapphires. Both Diamond and Sapphire are the hardest known materials known to man, so will have no problem in sharpening even the hardest of metal blades.

If Weight is a major consideration whilst you are out in the field, you could not do better than to use the DC4 Fällniven Combination Whetstone.

Using Your DC4 Whetsone

If your knife is very dull or has been chipped or otherwise damaged, you are advised to use the diamond side of the wet stone, which will cut back your knife blade very quickly giving it a clean edge. You should then use the ceramic side of the whetstone, to remove the burr from the other side of the cutting angle, in order to get an extremely sharp edge.

To achieve a razor-sharp edge you should use a good quality leather razor strop such as The Field Razor Strop (Basic or Deluxe), The Hand Razor Strop or The Bushcraft Pocket Strop. See our ebay shop for a description of these top quality strops.

Cooling Off Period.
Returning goods within the first 7 days of delivery, during the Cooling Off period (for undamaged goods), must be made at buyers own expense.  All goods must be undamaged and in original packing. Faulty Goods.
