The lads from Faile, aka The "Patricks," bring you this original found window from the Upper Playground show in San Francisco circa 2005. I purchased this piece amongst many others from the purveyor and the head of the gallery, Kimberly, 1Fifty24SF. The theme of that show was art on "found items" in the streets of the Los Angeles -- whether on wooden palettes strewn about a wherehouse or construction area in SoMa or discarded windows found in condemned buildings in a Victorian that had lost its luster. The gallery photos depicting the piece in the marketing materials of the show is shown is photo #2 above -- the only one without a brick background -- I, of course, have the invoice and all of the photos from the 2005 show.
This particular piece invokes the richness of the imprinting and the painting of black and white and the associated detail as few other original Faile works in work have with a "frosting" technique that is unique to glass. . . .
As this is my final Faile "original" piece that I shall ever auction on eBay -- and I consider it to be my "grandaddy" -- I will even throw in a Banksy sticker for the winning bidder.
