FAB ANTIQUE ENGLISH 15K GOLD MOURNING LOCKET PIN c1860   

A lovely quality antique English, solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts, probably filled with pitch or similar) mourning pin; beautifully made, with rounded body, finely hand engraved and black enamelling reading 'In Memory Of' to its bezel, around a rounded, glazed locket compartment containing a textile backing panel - easily accessed by a jeweller or handy person.

A high quality, distinctive and wonderfully collectable mourning pin!

CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear, c-clip an old replacement.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1840. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS: 21 x 16 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 3.4 grams.
