Here for sale is my Express dinghy, she is generally in very
nice condition for her age but I am selling her as an ongoing project as the deck
gear needs replacing/fitting (Cleats, toe straps, mainsheet block etc) and she
come with a very limited and tired suit of sails which would ideally need replacing
(Currently no Jib/Genoa).
However getting new sails shouldn’t be a problem as the
Express uses the same sail set up as a GP14 and the sails are interchangeable. As
I have recently changed jobs and no longer have the time to spare, she is being
offered for sale as an ongoing project for someone who is looking for a fast
dinghy with a bit of retro style.
I bought her in the summer and have completely faired and
painted her to a high standard, top-to-toe in International Yacht paint. I have
also fitted a new foredeck in laid Iroko veneers, replaced all the other
woodwork with mahogany and generally given her a new lease of life. The rig has
plenty of life left and consists of an alloy mast and boom and stainless steel
standing rigging.
She is currently on a launching trolley (no road trailer) waiting
for a new owner who could do the finishing touches over the winter. With a few
hours work she would make a lovely boat at very small cost and she would defiantly
turn heads as you don’t see many of her type any longer.
She is currently in Waldringfield, Suffolk (IP12 4QL), if
you would like to view her or need any further details please contact me in the
usual way.
As a final note if you place a bid you are committed to buy and
all the usual eBay rules apply, please no time wasters, or swaps PX offers
please. Cash on collection or via PayPal would be my preferred payment options.
Good luck and happy bidding!
IF YOU NEED TO VIEW THE BOAT TODAY OR TOMMOROW (SAT/SUN) PLEASE CONTACT ME ON 07916127282

Q: It all sounds great, but what about the getting a road trailer. Do you have any idea how this could be resolved. Would need to be built from scratch and if so do you have any ideas on cost? Thanks. You have made a lovely... Continue reading A: Sorry I don't really understand the question, any roat trailer to suit a 12-14ft boat should do, I moved her twice, once on a roof rack(not recommended) and also once on the back of a breakdown truck!

Q: Hello, she looks lovely,do you have any pictures of the front by the buoyancy compartment, dont know much about these boats ,but with the beautifull work youve done i am really tempted. A: Hi
The buoyancy compartments are in the inboard seats and run forward to aft, and under the fore-deck is open for the spinnaker and mast access.
Sorry I don’t have any photos of this area!

Regarding the paint job firstly she was stripped of all deck fittings and thoroughly rubbed down to provide a good key, filling any crazing with West Epoxy mixed with a low density filler and generally faired top-to-toe.... Continue reading
