Counted cross stitch kit for design based on Mackintosh's banner for an exhibition. The colours have been updated, basically because I wanted the challenge of stitching on black(!)

PLEASE NOTE THE COLOURS IN THE KIT OFFERED HERE DIFFER FROM THOSE IN THE IMAGE: THE FEATURE COLOUR IS PURPLE/LILAC in place of cornflower blue. This is because I offered the kit in a range of colours to go with people's decor. If you prefer to stitch the colours as shown, you will need 1 skein of DMC shade 794.

You get enough fabric & thread in the kit to stitch two figures on one piece, or to split it as shown and stitch 2 matching "banners".

The finished figure measures 6cm x 51cm when stitched on the 28HPI evenweave black cotton supplied. Threads, chart & instructions are supplied. The kit has been in storage for a while, and the needle has rusted. This has left a slight mark on the fabric about an inch from the edge - so not in the stitching area. Some light brishing may remove the mark enough, or the fabric might need a wash before or after stitching. The threads are colour-fast so it's up to you when you do it, if it's necessary. You'll need a size 28 embroidery needle for stitching on this evenweave. It features metallic thread, which is used to highlight the central rose motif - a Mackintosh classic.

This was one of my best-sellers - you get a good amount of fabric. The finished effect is really striking - I've had people ask me if it's beadwork, as the stitches really stand proud of the fabric.
