Long before the Arcade Fire made the world safe for touring with a harpsichord and a hurdy-gurdy, Eric Matthews was bridging the divide between baroque pop and indie rock. THE IMAGINATION STAGE--his fifth full-length--rekindles the vitality of that release with a song cycle of resonant emotion and textured arrangements. With Matthews conceiving every chart and playing every instrument--including strings, horns, and drums--THE IMAGINATION STAGE is not your usual indie-rock vanity project but proof that Matthews has the overarching talent to match his grandiose, orchestral vision of pop.

Brand new release from Eric Matthews who originally found fame as a member of New Zealand band Cardinal and has since released sporadic solo projects. This is full of beautifully crafted songs with big ,moody arrangements using a wide range of instrumentation, including "smoky" brass and prominent keyboards . One of his best ever releases!

This is an original CD and is brand new and unplayed, still factory sealed .
