Epines No. 4 by Rene Lalique with Grey Patina

This auction is for EPINES No. 4 - a fabulous example of Rene Lalique's design leading the way in the Art Deco movement. It features stylised intertwining leaves and branches in clear and frosted glass elegantly highlighted with grey patina. It measures approximately 8.5 cms high and 7 cms base diameter. The stopper is easily removable. I must admit, the inside could do with a professional clean by someone braver (and more expert) than I! There is an internal crack from the top of the neck into the shoulder, but it cannot be felt inside or out and water does not seep through: I've done the test. The last two pictures shows it as well as I could capture on camera. I should add that it can only be seen on close examination and does not detract at all from the appearance of this outstanding piece. Pieces from the Epines series come up rarely and usually at much higher cost. This is a great opportunity, I believe, to acquire a superb vintage scent bottle by Rene Lalique either as a unique gift or addition to a special collection.
