Original Old Print of Teresa Countess Guiccioli Mistress of Lord Byron

This is an undated original old print by A Fullarton & Co, London & Edinburgh.

Offering a rare opportunity to purchase an early print of an engraving commissioned by Lord Byron in Italy.

The original portrait is by William Brockedon. Engraving by H T Ryall.

The print carries a facsimile of the signature 'T Guiccioli'.

The quality of both the portrait and the engraving is excellent. The print is in good, clean condition. Overall size in the cream mount is 8" x 6" (20.2 x 15.1cm) - see image.

It is possible that this is an original print from c1820, but we believe, from evidence of other material obtained at the same time, that it is more likely this print was made in the late Victorian period, say 1870-1900. A similar engraving of Margarita Cogni - also currently on offer on eBay - carries a note that it was made at the request of Lord Byron, but the wording indicates it was a later print.
