ENDANGERED SPECIES finds the band further refining its signature sound with a collection of songs that explores existential angst, but with a clarity of vision and realistic outlook that encourages rather than depresses. Alternating between thick nu-metal bombast and gentle acoustic balladry, the group eschews cliched adolescent ranting in favor of a mature and thoughtful metal hybrid that should appeal to both headbangers and lovers of melancholy pop.
