Description

You are viewing a most beautiful hand-painted enamel box which is gilt mounted. On the cover is painted a Rose and other flowers with leaves on a white background, surrounded with gilt leaves. Front, sides, back and inside are painted with leaves. The colour of the enamel is a wonderful pale Torquoise. The clasp is firm and closes tightly. You will notice on the base are two crossed swords, which are extremely similar to 'Meissen' as is the whole object. Unfortunately, I am not qualified enough to be able to confirm these marks either way, I am sorry but you will have to make up your own mind ! Whatever, it is a lovely box. It has some wear and looks to be around 20 - 50 years.
