Beautiful little hinged box - possibly brass.  Exquisitely worked, carved and engraved, with egyptian figures and characters, outside and inside the box.

The lid is hinged to a tight fitting inner lining which when removed releases the engraved inner base lining of the box.  The box closes well but the hinge may be slightly loose on the lid.  This no way distracts from the attractiveness of the box.

Approx. 2.25 cms(7/8in) high and 4.50cms (1.75in) across.

Do not know origin or manufacture but small sign on base.

This box shows signs of wear and tear and use.
