Silver Tetradrachm of Cleopatra VII

English Pewter

  • This is a unique display of the Silver Tetradrachm of Cleopatra VII.  It contains 2 detailed reproductions of this famous coin, one showing the obverse and one showing the reverse.  They were cast  in the United Kingdom, from Fine English Pewter. 
  • Above the coins, reads: Silver tetradrachm of Cleopatra VII.
  • Below the coins, reads: Obervse, Bust of Cleopatra.  Reverse, Bust of Mark Anthony.  The original is thought to have been minted in Antioch (circa 37-32 BC).  Coinage was first minted in Egypt during the reign of Alexander the Great.  Greek coins were found in Egypt before this period though trade at this time was mostly conducted by bartering or by the weight of specific metals used as money..
  • The frame measures 8 1/4" high x 6 1/4 wide (21 x 16 cm) approx.
