Edwardian Sterling Silver Travelling Toilet Vanity Case

Description:
This is a fabulous Edwardian travelling toilet case.  The case retains its original outer protective lining, the case itself having a green leatherette covering, the fitted interior having a wonderful watermark green satin lining.  The case is fitted with various compartments and retains some of its original solid sterling silver topped glass containers.  Each of the solid sterling silver lids bear the "Birmingham" hallmark, lion passant and date letter "k" for the year "1909", together with the maker's mark "NBRS".  The case also retains its original green leatherette lined folder containing blotting paper, and a little glass inkwell contained within a green leatherette lined case.  There are also a pair of tweesers, a button hook and corkscrew with a mother-of-pearl handle.  A beautiful set, almost complete, in reasonably good condition for its age.  The case retains its original brass locks and comes with a working key.  A lovely quality travelling case which would have been an expensive item in its day.

The set dates 1909.

Condition:
The outer lining to the case has a few minor marks and tears, the case itself being in fairly good clean condition, however the satin stays for holding the lid up have torn.  All of the compartments are in good condition, one of the glass bottles having been broken around the neck at some point, with the silver lids having a few minor dings and dents in places.
