Plate 4

This pretty earthenware dessert plate was part of a full dessert service. It is relief moulded and decorated with a transfer print of yellow daisy-like flowers and generously edged with gilt. It has the printed mark underneath used by Ridgways of Hanley from about 1905 -1920. I am offering four plates from the set and the matching comport all listed separately. I always offer postage discounts for multiple purchases, so please check my other items for the matching plates and comport.

The dessert plate is 3.5 cms (1.25 inches) deep and 23.5 cms (9.25 inches) across at the widest point. It weighs 375 grams.

This plate is in good condition for its age. There are no cracks or chips, but the glaze is crazed, there are some light utensil marks and the gilt is lightly rubbed on the high points.

I will take time to package this item with great care using a combination of new and recycled materials, in order to ensure that it reaches the successful bidder in the same condition it leaves me.  It will be despatched within 2 working days of my receipt of cleared payment through Paypal.  Please note that an echeque paid through Paypal can take up to ten days to clear.
