Crowder, R. Baldwin and S. Blandon and others (London) in 1770. Undated but stated 15th edition. Later half calf over marbled boards. Five raised bands to spine. Compartments decorated in gilt. Red leather title label to spine stamped gilt. Pages (xii) 216. Small (15.5cm by 10.5cm). Boards are in near fine condition. Clean with bright gilt. Just the slightest rubbing to corners. Binding tight and square. Internally there is sporadic foxing throughout. Some staining to pages at the top fore-corner. The occasional mark. General age-toning. This is the scarce 15th edition of Hoyle's famous book of games, published the year following his death. The book carries the author's woodblock stamped signature on the verso of the title page as a guarantee of authenticity (the first 14 editions carried a hand-written signature). Books at £200 and over will be sent within 48 hours by special delivery with insurance to the full value of the book. There will not be any additional charge for this service, above the stated postage costs. Shipping overseas Shipping rates as detailed below All books under £200 will be sent by Royal Mail airmail within 48 hours of receipt of payment. Books at £200 and over will be sent within 48 hours by Royal Mail 'Airsure' (or 'International Signed For' where 'Airsure' is not available) with insurance to the full value of the book. Once the book has been mailed I will Email you notification together with a reference number which will enable you to track or trace your delivery online. There will not be any additional charge for this service above the stated shipping costs. Combined postage I will combine postage/shipping costs. Where more than one item is purchased please request an invoice when you have finished buying. I will send an amended invoice reflecting the reduced postage/shipping costs.
