East Lancashire Sweetheart Brooch, 9ct Gold & diamonds

Details

This auction is for a lovely sweetheart brooch. When I first looked at this I this I thought it was old (WWI), however based on the hallmarks it looks like it is actually quite modern, dating from the early 1990s.

The quality of the brooch is superb. The wreath and banner are 9ct gold. The sphinx ,rose and crown etc are silver or white gold, each one set with very fine Swiss cut diamonds.

The gold is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1993, maker "JMB"

It measures 28mm x 33mm (Maximum dimensions) and weighs a hefty 10.2 grammes.

The brooch comes with a pin and safety C clasp, also a safety chain
