Another fine product from the workshops of Feline Guitars

Make your guitar sound in tune at last
Have you noticed that no matter how well you tune your guitar, there are always certain chords that sound out of tune?
It's almost like you need to slightly re-tune for each chord
Even though you have set the intonation at the 12th fret, notes on certain frets stil seem to be sharp?
On a guitar with a standard nut, where all the strings have the same break off point, notes inherently play too sharply (as shown by the red numbers in the chart below - in the "science bit")
Well - the EARVANA compensated tuning nut can fix that
Created with unique break off points for each string, it compensates for differences in mass pitch and tension, resulting in dramatically improved tuning across the entire fretboard.
Earvana uses the same material that Graph Tech uses in their Tusq imitation ivory (acclaimed for it's great tone)
Available in Black or Ivory (white) colours & in sizes to suit most guitars
This sale is for a EASY FIT NUT FOR A FENDER LSR ROLLER NUT 1 11/16" (43mm) in BLACK

You may have read or heard about the Earvana nut or maybe the Buzz Feiten tuning system, but thought it was only available to "super guitarists" like Steve Vai or Joe Satriani.
Well it's not - more and more players are discovering the joy of having a guitar that actually sounds in tune - especially for those all important open chords, and the Earvana Compensated tuning Nut is making that affordable and easily accessible to all players.
And now www.felineguitars.com are importing this into the UK and Europe and making it also available here on ebay
Pretty easy to install yourself - or have your guitar tech/repairer do it for you

The science bit

Keeping a guitar in tune is often enough of a task , but even then many players find that open chords just don't quite sound "in tune".
To date the guitar is an imperfect instrument (Pythagoras got some of his calculations wrong) and recently there have been some efforts to try and improve that situation .
The main problem stems from the fact that on a normal guitar - when the open/unfretted strings are tuned perfectly, they seem to play sharp in the first 5 or so fret positions.
Unfortunately this is exactly where players could do without them being out of tune as most chords are played in this position.
The Earvana nut can alleviate this problem
Below is a chart showing the before and after state of play

Over many years of research and development, Earvana has designed the compensated nut to provide the most accurate intonation available on the market today.
They have perfected the correct degree of compensation at the nut and the bridge needed to achieve a total balance throughout the entire fret board.
This results in string compression whereby extending the break off point at the nut flattens the intervals from the nut to the 12th fret.
By moving the bridge forward, which sharpens the intervals from the bridge to the 12th fret.
This is where the comparison to tuning like a piano comes in.
Lower notes on a piano are flattened progressively more from middle C to the lower register, and sharpened progressively more from middle C to the higher register.
This system of tuning is built into the Earvana Nut.
