Earliest type of New England glass house demijohn or large whiskey bottle. Very crude crooked shoulders, tons of seed bubbles! Nice thin glass, long neck. Crude tooled lip treatment typical of turn of 18th cent/ early 19th cent. Freeblown nice delicate ring pontil, good wear. Condition is excellent, one small shallow flake on bottom edge 1/8" wide. no harm, mentioned for accuracy. A beautiful example and a joy to own! Not your everyday demijohn that's for sure! color is olive amber surprisingly clear when held up to window light.
