Early German Faience Beer Stein Salzburg Factory c. 1790
Early German beer stein in good condition. Made of faience with very colorful hand-painted decorations that traditionally are associated with Salzburg faience factory circa 1790 - 1800. This blue glaze with floral and geometrical patterns is very typical for Salzburg - not very common faience factory. Nice solid pewter mountings in perfect condition. The body has two short not very visible hairline and a small glaze chip at the footring (see pics). This is a very good condition for a beer stein that is over 200 years old. It is 10" tall to the top of the thumblift, 1L capacity.
Please keep in mind - this is true authentic drinking vessel about 200 years old, not a copy or fake. I have been collecting and trading antique beer steins for many years - I guarantee my description.
