Early Georgian Oak Side Table
Circa. 1730
Description:
An excellent Early Georgian Period Side Table. The rectangular two-plank top over a single frieze drawer, fitted with original brass swan neck handles and oval brass key escutcheon. The drawer is constructed using early large hand-made dovetail joints and sits above a decorative shaped apron. The table stands on four slender ring-turned tapering legs joined by plain stretchers on short bobbin turned feet.
This piece has just been professionally hand-polished by my restorer and requires no further work what-so-ever. The finish and colour are superb. Good genuine pieces of period oak should always be both a joy to the eye and to the touch; this beautiful original piece certainly excels in all respects.
