Description: An exquisite illustration watercolour on artist's paper, signed "CM" and dated '08 for 1908. Framed - approx 22 X 13 inches (55.88 X 33.02cm). This is an exquisite English School watercolour dating from the early 20th Century.  The illustration depicts a beautiful and colourful, magical adaptation of a scene from the famous fairytale by The Brothers Grim, later famously adapted by Disney. This is the artist's impression from this legendary fable. The figures are outlined and defined in pen ink, the figures surrounded by tall woodland in the evening sky. Smoke rises from a small fire, keeping all of the 'dwafs' warm, as they sit on mushrooms listening to the young Snow White as she reads them all a bedtime story, accompanied by two bunny rabbits joining in the evenings entertainment. An enchanting piece of art from this wonderful artist famous for her illustrations of the "Flower Fairies" - a little girl's dream! - The painting bears its original gallery sticker verso "T.R. Curran - Ashton under Lyne" - the work titled "A Fairy Tale". The work bears a monogram "CM" to the lower right.

Framing: Contemporary plain moulded Oak. Finish: Natural. The watercolour is mounted on board and has a green mount.
Condition: Excellent. The painting retains its wonderful rich colouring and is in fabulous condition. The frame some minor distressing consistent with age.
