Offered for sale is this charming, early 1900's, Art Deco, solid silver and guilloche enamelled circular hinged box. Most probably used as a compact.
One of a few similar enamelled items being listed this week.
The box/compact is solid silver, continental import marks to the underside.
Measures just under 2 & 1/8 inches across approx.
The box is silver gilt to the inside, originally there would have been a mirror inset to the lid, it is not present now. The hinge is in good working order, lid closes tightly. There is sadly wear to the enamel lid, you can see in the photos, that one edge has some losses and wear. Other than this, some surface scratches, marks etc, but no dings and overall fairly reasonable condition, the only real wear being to the enamel edge.
