Offered for sale is a 2oz size example of the earliest type of bottle used for Bovril Beef Extract.

Each side is embossed JOHNSTONS FLUID BEEF / BRAND BOVRIL with Rd 100848 to one side.The base is marked FARRINGDON St LONDON though it is quite faint.

The bottle is in very good condition,stands 2.6 inches high and dates to the late 1880's.

The 4oz example also shown is for comparison only.
